Three quick checks:

  1. Store payment timing. Subscription payments occur 24-hours before the start of the next payment periods. For example, a 3-day trial started Monday morning bills late Wednesday or early Thursday in the store's time zone.
  2. Authorization holds. A charge that disappears in a few days is a verification hold from Apple or Google, not a real charge.
  3. Duplicate charges. Usually an authorization hold sits alongside the real charge (the hold drops off in a few days), or two separate purchases. For example, one on the App Store and one on the web. Check both.
